Mark Layton to Present at the China Game Developers Conference

The gaming industry in China has experienced rapid growth in the past few years. In 2012, estimated total revenues were $9.7 Billion – a 35% increase from 2011 and more than 1/3 of the global total gaming revenue, according to The NPD Group.

There are a few characteristics that distinguish the Chinese gaming market from others, including:

  1. The number of consumers, as well as their spending, have both grown at a rapid rate
  2. Most gaming is done via online games

The surge in popularity of the gaming industry in China has created ample opportunity for Chinese companies to enter the market and flourish. The China Game Developers Conference (CGDC) promotes the exchange of technical expertise and cooperation between the Chinese and international game development communities. The CGDC invites global experts in game/product planning, production, and research and development to share their expertise and contribute to the development of China’s game development capabilities.

The 6th annual China Game Developers Conference will be held July 26-28, 2013 in Shanghai, China. On July 26th, Platinum Edge Principal and author of Agile Project Management for Dummies Mark Layton will be presenting a speech to CGDC attendees titled “Agile Development for Mobile Games”.

The speech will focus on strategies for mobile game developers to transition to agile to increase quality and deliver games to market faster. This is a key requirement for success as mobile and web technologies evolve rapidly and the industry moves towards ever faster time to market.

More details about Mark Layton’s speech can be found here, as well as links to the CGDC home page and more information about the conference.

Platinum Edge is pleased and honored to be a part of the 6th annual China Game Developers Conference this year. We look forward to connecting with attendees, industry experts, game developers, and conference organizers/sponsors.
